The Spicy pot tastes really authentic and is reasonably priced. Waitress was nice and service was overall decent. Would visit again when we r in Victoria next time.
Authentic Chinese food. Very nice owners.
It's very good - large portions. I find myself craving it quite often and I'm super picky when it comes to Chinese food. I wish they'd change their breaded almond chicken, but it's still good
ok place
It's very unpalatable. Zuo Zongtang chicken is so big that it can't be eaten at all. The spicy incense pot has a pile of black things. I don't know what it is. It's especially salty! The most important thing is that there was no one in the store but I was waiting for more than forty minutes! Can't understand how those conscientious evaluations came
ok experience. not recommond
The level is average, not too small, and has not encountered a relatively large accidentRecommended dishes: saliva chicken, oily noodles, rice noodles, clam meat
I came here purely for the Northwestern style of Chinese dishes. I haded cold rice noodles with spicy sauce and the dumplings in sour soup. Both tasted very authentic. I added extra chilli oil in the noodles to kick it up a notch. The dumplings are plump and jucy. The spicy sour soup made me sweat which was a nice feeling when you enjoy this dish.
Good variety and value
As this place is known for spicy pot, tried one today. Selected shiritake, enoki mushroom, fish ball, fried tofu, sliced potato and bean curbed. Tried medium spicy, and it was super spicy. A bowl of rice is extra charge. It was good experience trying the famous spicy pot (in Korea, people call this Chinese food as Ma-ra-Shang-guo).
The taste is great while it has less food within the dishes compared to other restaurants. Also, the bubble tea was kind of disappointing.
The dish is really unpalatable, and it feels like a northerner. The boss's attitude is also very poor. Too rushed. I suggest that the boss must learn to be a person before opening a restaurant. ^_^嘻嘻
Food is ok. Order more than normal, otherwise would not be enough. Only one witness, service is ok.
One of the best Chinese restaurants in vic
One of my favourite Chinese places in town. I'm lucky I live within walking distance though as they no longer offer delivery unfortunately.Food always tasty and fresh.
not good enough food, rice is not fresh made, made with artificial color
just so so
They closed till Aug 14th
Spicy pot is my favorite.
Great place, wonderful 'homey' atmosphere and very reasonable. If you want the authentic Chinese cuisine this is the place to go. Staff are extremely helpful and service was super fast. The food literally came hot and steaming from the kitchen. BUT be warned the portions are enormous. I am not known for being a dainty eater and even I could not finish what was on my plate. I had opted for 'combo' dinner as I am not the adventurous sort. My friends decided that they would have three different dishes each. I told them that would be too much food. They didn't listen. They ended up with three family size plates each. There was enough for three other people. Definitely would return there. The price of this bounty worked out to about 55.00 for three of us including drinks. As I have said if you want authentic Chinese ie pig intestines with chili this is the place to go. Fortunately, for people like me there are 'Canadian Chinese' dishes. Oh yes and a large number of Szechwan choices.
My favorite Chinese restaurant in Victoria because they have authentic northwest Chinese dishes. They provide some Cantonese dishes nowadays as well.
Authentic northwest chinese food! I'm very pleased with the quality of the food here and it's authenticity. This is probably one of the most authentic chinese food downdown.
Terrible the wait staff has know clue what there doing. Waited 45 mins for our final item cause apparently they don't know what a meal for 6 comprises of. Charged for refills on fountain pop.
Horrible service. Dead flies in soy sauce. Very dirty. Meh food.
Excellent food and highly recommend this place for anyone who wants authentic Chineses food
We liked the dumplings especially the three-delight-dumplings however we felt that the fillings were not full enough which made the dumplings less satisfying. Hope they'll improve.
Best Chinese restaurant ever
Point of iron plate beef, pork when the beef is sold, told the waiter but the response is not wrong
The place is reasonably clean, the service is fast, and the food is ok. The noodle soup is watery, and the milk tea is made from powder. Although the food is nothing special, it’s not bad either.
Tasty, salty, reasonably spicy home made rice noodles + a mildly spicy beef "Burger" (bao) made for a fantastic and filling quick lunch. In future I may ask for extra chili oil as theirs is rather mild, but delicious.
Can't help but post it first, the taste is very good
Very spicy and delicious.
Best Chinese restaurant in Victoria!
Real and decent Chinese food, very good price, super nice owner.
Very good food and service, the spicy hot pot is excellent and very authentic to traditional Chinese cusine
Some of the best Chinese food around
Food is good. Service is OK. It seems like they cater mostly to Chinese diaspora and all others become a second priority. Disregarding that, the food can be improved a bit. One will have to find the pork pieces in the pork fried rice. For the price, pork is virtually absent. And when spicy means spicy, it would be better if it's obliged.
Great authentic food.
This is the most authentic northern Chinese available in Victoria.
We enjoy this restaurant every time we go to Victoria from the mainland. We came two days in a row for dinner as we don't enjoy Western greasy food very much. The first night was a 3 as the server was not great, appeared to be a college student. We enjoyed the spicy pot, the dish this place is known for, our preschooler enjoyed dumplings (he ate the entire dish!) Our second night was a 5, the server was friendly and helpful, considerate of our son (providing extra utensils, water, etc without asking, whereas night 1 we were given 2 place settings until we asked). We had the wonton soup, the beef noodle soup and more dumplings. The wonton and beef noodle are not spicy, and are not Hong Kong style, so don't be disappointed if you like that. We just needed this as lunch was burgers. Also the price is right $35 for dinner for a family is great.
Authentic northern Chinese food. The food quanlity is consistently satisfying. Good service and very reasonable price. Recommended.
Authentic northern chinese food. Try the chinese burger (Bao)! They were good with hot chili oil!
One star for the food. Service is horrible. Extremely slow for everything. They seem to care way more about delivery/take out orders than dine in customers.
Above average food authenticity, competitive price, pleasant environment.
Very good and typical Chinese food. I really like it. Many thanks to the chefs and other people there :-)
You want tons of good quality Chinese for a great price go here. If you like in bone Peking duck it's a great price. Friend and I are 5 dishes, $58 bucks including two beers. We stumbled out ready for bed. Service was outstanding.
Horrible service, only one server, we CAN NOT find her. Also, there are many little bugs in sauce bottle. I will not come back again! Such a terrible experience!
Cozy and quiet place with delicious food and kind staff!
Very delicious! So kind of the people here. I really really really like the food here!
Great variety of authentic dishes. Try the homemade rice noodles with chili oil, onion, and cucumber!
